Prefer to take the cable car up first? That's possible, in the summer many cable cars including those in the village (Ankogel) are open. It brings you immediately to beautiful views. Free access with the Carinthia Card. 

Besides the different starting points in the village, there are numerous other starting points in the area which are easily accessible by car.  The beautiful views and surroundings will  amaze you every day.

Active on the mountain bike through the mountains. Mallnitz and its surroundings has one of the most beautiful mountain bike trails in the region. No day will be the same, because every route is different. Suitable for both experienced and less experienced bikers. 

Mountain bike a bit too active? Then discover the various routes by E-mountain bike. With support a totally different experience. These e-mountain bikes can be rented at Wolliger Sports Mallnitz. Austria is known for its many lakes. 
The lakes Weissensee, Faaker See, Ossiacher See and Millstätter See are about 1 hour drive from Mallnitz. Ideal for various water sports such as sailing, canoeing, boating, stand-up paddling and windsurfing.

Or just enjoy on the edge of the water, on a sunbathing lawn or on the terraces of the various restaurants / cafes.

Next to its lakes there are many rivers. Powerful because of the meltwater, ideal for the tough water sports like rafting and canoying. Tip in Obervellach: Sport Erlebnis Camp Pristavec.

Relax in the pool of Mallnitz, Tauernbad. At high temperatures, the open-air swimmingpool in Obervellach or Kolbnitz offers a lot of water fun. 

Mallnitz is surrounded by mountains with peaks between 2000 and 3100m.
Day tours with breaks in one of the many cabins, or longer trips including overnight stay in one of the many cabins with beautiful views. Away from the crowds, the mountains for you alone.
